ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT’S NOTE
Spring to life
Open your windows and let the fresh air in! April is time to get back outdoors and enjoy your favourite warm-weather activities—getting your hands dirty in your garden or grilling great family feasts.
We gardeners have been eagerly awaiting the spring thaw. This is our time to dig in the dirt and prepare for the summer growing season. In this issue’s Home & Garden Special Section, we introduce you to Hendriks, a leading supplier of indoor plants. You can also learn how artificial grass is a low-maintenance, durable, pet-friendly, cost-effective way to create a green, vibrant space you can enjoy all year.
For the grill aficionados among us, barbecue season is here. So, dust off your grill, mix up your favourite barbecue sauce and get out there! Our article on the new Kirkland Signature™ gas grills will help you select your next one so you are ready for the sumptuous cookouts ahead.
April 22 is Earth Day. What better way to celebrate spring than to focus on the little things we can do to protect Earth. Costco believes we can play a positive role in helping the world face these issues. While we see progress in many areas, we are committed to continuous improvement across all elements of our business.
To learn how some Costco members celebrate Earth Day, see this issue’s Member Poll. You can also read about our efforts in Costco’s Sustainability Commitment.
So, cheers to spring. It’s a time for warmer weather, getting outdoors, gardening, barbecuing and enjoying our beautiful planet!
