The joys of June

June is here and summer is on its way! The days are longer and our evenings are now full of warm-weather magic.

Sunday, June 18, is Father’s Day. It’s time to celebrate that special dad—or father figure—in your life. If that person is like my dad, your celebration will involve an outdoor activity, a special project in the garage and dinner with friends and family that’s topped off with a frosted cake.

Summer weddings are now in full swing— which means our cover story is arriving at the right time. Whether you are attending or hosting, we offer lots of great stories and suggestions to help you make that big day special—and affordable.

Our Special Section this issue, For Your Health, shares valuable information on stroke symptoms and prevention. You can learn about how to keep your skin looking radiant by applying your beauty oils, essences, lotions and more in the right order. We also explore how some medications for chronic conditions may deplete the body of necessary vitamins and minerals.

In the Inside Costco section, Sheri Flies, vice president, global sustainability and compliance, at Costco Wholesale, shares what Costco is doing to reduce harmful emissions.
