For the love of Costco
August is like the Sunday of summer. We all want it to slow down and not pass so quickly so we can keep enjoying those lazy, hazy, crazy days. It’s time to relax and enjoy all things sunny and warm with those you love: a vacation, the beach, a walk, a backyard barbecue, the forest, time in the garden, the scenery.
Like the members profiled in our cover story, I’d like to point out that my colleagues and I are also “crazy for Costco.” As a 31-year employee, I believe in the great products and services that we offer our members. I often joke that my house is like a Costco museum. In fact, I still have a ceramic vase that was the very first item I ever purchased from Costco, at our warehouse in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1991. That vase has served many purposes over the years—from planter to umbrella stand to garden tool box. In the cover story, you will meet many members who, like me, love Costco. And who knew the Kirkland Signature™ sweatshirt would become a tribute to this craze.
As we enjoy these dog days, fall and all its bounty are just around the corner. Our Back-to-School Special Section this month will help you and your family head back to class prepared and in style. I encourage you to wander through these pages and find something new to try, knowing that Costco stands behind all the products we sell. Sit back, unwind and take in the great things that summer and Costco have to offer.
