Recommended dosage (adults and children 8 years and older):
- For intestinal health, gut flora, probiotics: 1 teaspoon (1.25 g) per day in 250 mL of water.
- For daily fibre: 2 teaspoons (2.5 g) per day in 250 mL of water.
- For IBS, diarrhea, constipation, stool, glycemic index, intestinal health, gut flora, probiotics: 1 teaspoon (1.25 g) 4 times per day in 250 mL of water.
Cautions and Warnings:
Consult a physician prior to use:
- If you have diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar is difficult to regulate,
- If you are taking medications which inhibit peristaltic movement (e.g., opioids, loperamide),
- If you have symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or fever (as these could be signs of abdominal constipation, disease of the oesophagus or the superior opening of the stomach (cardia), paralysis of the intestine, megacolon, fecal impaction, inflamed bowel or appendicitis), or if you have bloody diarrhea.
- Consult a physician if symptoms persist or worsen, or if laxative effect does not occur within seven days. If symptoms of digestive upset (e.g., diarrhea) occur, worsen, or persist beyond 3 days, discontinue use and consult a physician. Do not use if you are experiencing a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for more than 2 weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or failure to defecate following the use of another laxative product, or if you have an immune-compromised condition (e.g., AIDS, lymphoma, patients undergoing long-term corticosteroid treatment). Consult a physician prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Keep out of reach of children.
