Car Batteries

When you purchase a new lead-acid battery from Costco, we collect a $15.00 recycling fee. The fee is refunded when you return your old lead-acid battery to any Costco Warehouse membership counter. Costco ships all lead-acid batteries returned to us by our members to our supplier for recycling. We will also accept additional used batteries for safe recycling. Lead-acid batteries contain materials which may be harmful to people and the environment. Proper recycling will ensure these hazardous materials do not contaminate the environment. This is not a government sponsored or affiliated program. We do not collect a fee in a province that imposes a similar fee on lead-acid batteries.
