Costco Travel’s hotel-only booking program opens up a whole new world of destination options

For several years, Costco Travel has offered members a wide selection of travel options, including cruises, vacation packages, car rental services and more.

Now, Costco Travel is introducing another new service for members: hotel-only bookings.

“There are many times when our members are looking for shorter, targeted trips, such as a family visit, a specific sporting event, a romantic weekend getaway or a quick holiday escape,” says Casey Livingston, global hotel buyer for Costco Travel. “Our hotel-only program puts more than 3,000 hotels worldwide at members’ fingertips when their travel needs require accommodations only.”

With the creation of a hotel-only category, separate from the vacation packages, “Costco Travel has really expanded the number of cities and hotels members can choose from,” Livingston says. “We’re excited to offer members more variety for their travel accommodation needs, with a selection of offerings from IHG Hotels and Resorts and Fairmont.”

The new program includes more than 77 destinations and thousands of hotels, ranging from midscale to luxury properties, throughout Canada, the U.S., Europe and Asia. “For instance,” Livingston says, “IHG offers more than 3,500 hotels worldwide, with 18 brands, including Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza, as well as full-service brands such as InterContinental and Kimpton Fairmont, which features 25 hotels and resorts in North America, such as Fairmont Palliser in Calgary, Fairmont Georgetown in Washington, D.C., and Fairmont Millennium Park in Chicago.”

Let’s look at some examples.

Fairmont Le Château Montebello.

For over 90 years, Quebec’s Fairmont Le Château Montebello has been known for its rustic charm, unique architecture and beautiful natural surroundings. The “world’s largest log cabin” is a welcoming resort destination with more than 40 seasonal activities and experiences available on-site. Recently renovated, the luxury hotel offers rustic yet modern guest rooms and refined regional cuisine.
